Which proxies to buy for Telegram accounts
Static dedicated IPv4 or ISP, one IP per account, in the phone number's country - and why the rotating residential and mobile proxies the market pushes hardest are the wrong product for a long-lived Telegram session.

Of everything a Telegram fleet runs on, the proxy is the part you change least: an account keeps one exit for as long as it lives, and that exit is the network half of how Telegram recognises the session. That is why it repays ten minutes of deciding rather than whichever provider ranks first for “proxies for Telegram” - the type to buy, the country it exits from, how many accounts share one address, and what to do the day one stops answering.
The short answer: static dedicated IPv4
For Telegram account work the proxy question has a short answer: static dedicated IPv4, one per account, in the phone number's country. An ISP proxy (a static IP from a residential-looking range) is the upgrade when a cleaner-looking network is worth double the price. The rest of the catalogue - rotating residential pools, backconnect gateways, mobile 4G/5G lines - is built for scraping, where the exit is supposed to change; for a long-lived Telegram session that is the failure mode.

Proxies are step zero - decide them before numbers or accounts: available geos dictate everything downstream.
Protocol: start with SOCKS5
SOCKS5 is the boring, correct default - every provider sells it, every Telegram library speaks it. The platform accepts socks5, socks4, http, https and mtproxy, written as host:port or host:port:user:pass with an optional scheme:// prefix. Several providers export exactly that format, so a purchased list usually pastes in as is; MTProto is a niche buy - see the FAQ.
Why rotation is the enemy
A Telegram session is not a browser session: you log in once, a long-lived authorization key is derived and works for months from one device. To Telegram's anti-abuse, the network a session lives on is part of its identity - and the classic signature of a hijacked session is an existing key suddenly operating from a new network. An exit that keeps changing - worse, hopping between autonomous systems - reads as a stolen key being replayed; responses range from re-login challenges to a frozen account.
Teleliner therefore records the verified exit IP and ASN on every proxy check; if either changes under a live session, that is drift and the account is held, not left working through a moved exit. A rotating proxy trips that alarm by design: paying extra for a product that fights your own safety rail.
Mobile proxies look best on paper: thousands of real phones share every carrier address, so reputation is excellent - and that sharing is the problem. Carriers park subscribers behind CGNAT and reshuffle egress addresses on cell handover, so no reseller can sell you a mobile IP that holds for weeks. One vendor, MobileProxy, admits it in its own FAQ: guaranteeing a fixed IP even for 24 hours is technically impossible on mobile lines (their wording, checked August 2026). When sellers say the product cannot hold still, believe them.
One IP, one account - never shared plans
Two rules, two failure modes. First: no shared plans, where one IP is sold to several customers. You cannot see the neighbours, and one spammer poisons the address for everyone - even the industry's referral-funded review catalogs draw the line at shared for account work. Second: do not park several of your own accounts on one dedicated IP either - accounts behind a common exit look linked, and trouble on one invites scrutiny of the rest. One IP per account keeps the blast radius at one.
The platform treats the pair as sticky: the proxy set on an account stays with it and is checked together with it. At about $1-2 per dedicated IP per month (prices below), isolation is pocket change next to an account carrying a number, history and weeks of warming.
Geo: the proxy must match the number's country
Telegram derives an account's country from the phone number's code; the platform does the same and checks the proxy's exit geo separately: a mismatch between the two is exactly what scoring notices - ours and, by every indication, Telegram's. A German number that only ever connects from a Vietnamese datacenter tells a story, and not “this person lives in Germany”. The rule binds the number side just as hard: the phone numbers for Telegram guide covers buying to match, including the activator that confirms in its own FAQ that the operator's country gets compared with where the user actually is.
So the shopping order inverts: lock in proxy geos first, then buy numbers to match. Country is the granularity that matters: we have seen no evidence city-level matching changes anything, and nobody honest will promise it does.

The planning number is $1-2 per account per month for dedicated IPv4, roughly double for ISP; verified lists put 100 accounts at about $115-150 per month. The “from $0.49” tier would halve that - if it survives a real country-and-volume selection, so check by hand first. My proxy is dead - what now
If the dashboard sent you here with a proxy-down notice: this is about the proxy, not the account. Teleliner demotes the proxy to dead when it rejects authentication or stops passing checks; the account behind it stays intact and is simply not started until the exit works again - starting through a broken or substituted exit would be a risk, so the platform refuses to.
A dead proxy is almost always a lapsed subscription, changed credentials, a re-issued IP or a downed host. Diagnosis takes about five minutes:
- Check the provider dashboard for the obvious: expired subscription, rotated credentials, a service notice. Fix it there - the next check brings the account back on its own.
- Test from your own machine:

An auth error points at credentials; a timeout at the host or the route. - A replacement IP is a new proxy: reputation-check it, update the account's proxy entry, and let the platform re-verify the exit before the account starts.
- If the provider cannot restore a working IP in the same country, buy elsewhere and move once: stop, swap, start. One deliberate move is survivable; an exit that flaps is not.
Prevention beats diagnosis: renewal dates on auto-renew or a calendar, a spare verified IP or two per country, and a provider with a purchase API, so replacement takes minutes.
Antidetect browsers: not needed here
People coming in from browser multi-accounting ask which antidetect browser to pair with the proxies. For native Telegram automation: none. Dolphin Anty, AdsPower, GoLogin protect a browser fingerprint - canvas, WebGL, fonts, cookies - what websites identify you by. Telegram over MTProto never sees a canvas - there is no browser in the loop. What it does see: the device model and app version announced at login, network consistency, behaviour. The platform covers that surface with a unique device identity per account, generated at onboarding (defaults are rejected), a sticky proxy and paced actions. Spend the antidetect budget on better proxies.
Frequently asked questions
Aren't mobile proxies the safest option for Telegram?
They have the best-looking IP reputation, which is why they are marketed hardest - but they cannot hold a fixed IP, and for a long-lived Telegram session continuity beats reputation. Carrier CGNAT and cell handover reshuffle exits, and at least one mobile-proxy vendor states in its own FAQ that a fixed IP cannot be guaranteed even for a day. A clean static IP that never moves is the safer trade for account work.
Should I rotate proxies from time to time as hygiene?
No - that folklore comes from web scraping, where rotation dodges rate limits. For Telegram accounts the logic inverts: the session is supposed to look like one person on one connection, so a changing exit is the anomaly, not the hygiene. Change a proxy only when you must - a dead IP, a wrong geo - and do it as a deliberate stop, swap, start, never on a schedule.
Can two of my accounts share one dedicated proxy?
Technically yes, and it is still a bad idea. Accounts behind the same exit are trivially linkable, so trouble on one account invites scrutiny of its neighbour. At $1-2 per IP per month, per-account isolation is the cheapest insurance in the whole setup.
SOCKS5 or MTProto proxy?
Start with SOCKS5: every provider sells it, it tests with standard tools, and the platform accepts it directly. MTProto proxies work too, but the market for them is thin - as of August 2026 only one of seven surveyed providers published a flat MTProto price, and its country list had notable gaps. Buy MTProto only if you have a specific reason to.
What proxy format does the platform accept?
host:port or host:port:user:pass, optionally with a scheme:// prefix; the supported types are socks5, socks4, http, https and mtproxy. Several providers export lists in exactly that format, so a purchased list can usually be pasted in unchanged.
Will the right proxy keep my accounts from being banned?
No single layer will, and anyone promising that is selling something. A static, dedicated, geo-consistent proxy removes one large class of signals - network inconsistency - but number quality, account history and behaviour weigh at least as much. Treat the proxy as necessary, not sufficient.
